Jimbe/Salitre Area

Pictures from the 2013 Summer Field Season.

Huaca Grande/El Mirador ridge. This ridge included 3 seperate sites and was originally documented in 1979 by archaeologist Richard Daggett. Unfortunately since the site(s) were documented, the local community of Huanca constructed their own “Mirador” or pavillion/communal meeting area at the edge of the ridge. This construction has destroyed one of the platform mounds located on the ridge.
